Celebrating 10 Years: Introducing The Shoebox’s ’10 for 10′ Initiative

Marking a Decade of Community Impact

For the past ten years, The Shoebox Enterprises has been bringing people together across Norwich and Great Yarmouth through welcoming community spaces, volunteer-led activities, support groups and unique heritage experiences. As a Norfolk-based social enterprise, its mission is simple but powerful: to help people build meaningful connections, reduce loneliness and create stronger, more resilient communities.

Now, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary, The Shoebox has launched ‘10 for 10‘ – an ambitious initiative centred around ten goals that will help shape the organisation’s next decade.

From securing a permanent home in Norwich to expanding community projects, supporting more volunteers and creating new opportunities for local people to connect, each goal has been designed to deliver lasting benefits for communities across Norfolk.

Among the key ambitions are raising £10,000 towards purchasing and improving The Shoebox’s Castle Meadow community hub, training new volunteers, offering free Hidden Street Tours for community groups and charities, supporting emerging community leaders and developing new partnerships with local businesses. Together, these projects will help more people access support, friendship and opportunities to get involved.

The campaign is already gathering momentum, with significant progress towards securing the Castle Meadow building and thousands of pounds already raised. However, there’s still plenty to achieve, and The Shoebox is inviting individuals, businesses and organisations to play their part.

Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, become a partner or simply help spread the word, every contribution will help ensure The Shoebox can continue creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, discover new opportunities and enjoy shared experiences for many years to come.
