The Castle on the Hill…
In case you missed it, Norwich was in the news again this week (it’s becoming a bit of a habit). Fantastically, Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery has been shortlisted as one of the five finalists for the Art Fund Museum of the Year award 2026.
The world’s largest museum prize, our favourite Castle is one of only FIVE UK museums to be up for the prize, which also includes heavy hitters like The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, The National Gallery in London and the relatively new V&A East Storehouse.
All in all it’s a pretty big deal.
The winner from the all-England shortlist will essentially be crowned ‘UK’s Best Museum’, announced at a ceremony at London’s Cutty Sark on 25 June 2026. The winning museum will be awarded a prize of £120,000, with the other finalists each receiving £20,000.
