Snowdrops are the first flower to bloom at the end of Winter, and are supposed to be a symbol of hope. They are appearing now and you’ll be able to spot them all over Norfolk soon, a welcome sign that Spring is just around the corner.

Many of our parks, woods and green spaces will be carpeted with white blooms that you can enjoy for free. Or for a real treat, there are some very special Norfolk spaces that offer a gorgeous, immersive experience for a small fee.

Walsingham Abbey is the best place to spot snowdrops in Norfolk according to our Instagram community. Their Snowdrop Season runs from Monday 26th January to Sunday 1st March 2026, daily 10am-4pm.

Other good places to enjoy Snowdrops in Norfolk include:

  • East Ruston Old Vicarage – ‘Snowdrop Day’ is Sunday 8th February 2026, 10am till 2pm. (National Open Garden Scheme)
  • Oxburgh Hall.
  • Sheringham Park.
  • Blickling Estate.
  • Fairhaven Woodland & Water Garden, South Walsham.
  • Holkham (apparently they have been spotted here – towards the East Gate Exit – thanks for the tip Lynn V. Most likely across the estate too.).
  • The UEA Campus and the Yare Valley Walk Norwich.
  • Lexham Hall near Litcham. ‘Snowdrop Walks’ take place this year on Sunday 8th & Sunday 15th February 2026, 11am – 4pm. (National Open Garden Scheme).
  • Horstead House near Norwich. Enjoy a stunning display of beautiful snowdrops that carpet the woodland setting. Saturday 14th February 2026, 11am – 4pm, and also by arrangement 8th – 21st February. (National Open Garden Scheme).
  • Bagthorpe Hall near King’s Lynn. Surrounded by farmland, this is a delightful circular walk meandering through a stunning display of snowdrops naturally carpeting a woodland floor. Open Day Sunday 22nd February 2026, 11am – 4pm. (National Open Garden Scheme).
  • Brinton Hall near Melton Constable. Open Day Sunday 15th February 2026, 10:30am – 3pm. (National Open Garden Scheme).
  • Chestnut Farm near Holt. The garden has been in the same ownership for the last 60 years. Open Day Sunday 22nd February 2026, 11am – 4pm. (National Open Garden Scheme).
  • Raveningham Gardens celebrate their 2026 opening with Snowdrop Season, raising funds for the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Charity. Open 11am to 4pm, Sunday to Friday (closed Saturdays) from February 1st to February 27th.
  • Hoveton Hall Estate run guided Snowdrop Tours and Lunch. This special intimate tour offers you the chance to enjoy the beautiful snowdrops at Hoveton Hall Estate, guided by the head gardener through the areas of the estate not usually open to the public. After your walk you will be given a tour of Hoveton Hall by the owner followed by a light lunch. The experience lasts 3 hours and takes place from 11am to 2pm. Booking is essential as numbers are limited to a maximum of 35 people.
  • Thorpe Market Church, Snowdrop Sundays. 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd February 2026, 12 -4pm.
