Snowdrops are the first flower to bloom at the end of Winter, and are supposed to be a symbol of hope. You can spot them all over Norfolk at this time of year, a welcome sign that Spring is just around the corner.

Many of our parks, woods and green spaces will be carpeted with white blooms that you can enjoy for free. Or for a real treat, there are some very special Norfolk spaces that offer a gorgeous, immersive experience for a small fee.

The National Garden Scheme’s Snowdrop Festival is in full swing, and means that lots of Norfolk gardens that are normally closed to the public are open for certain weekends throughout the month. These include Horstead House and Lexham Hall near Litcham (Sunday 11th Feb 11-4pm is the last weekend this is open). Visit the NGS website for all the details and dates.
