Since the lockdown for Coronavirus and the Government instructing all coffee shops to close, The Apiary in Harleston has quickly and successfully diversified.

Owner Mike Chappell, formerly a greengrocer in Southwold, decided to support the local community by turning his Coffee Shop into a Greengrocers and basic shop offering a take-away and local delivery service.

Mike says: “not only is this helping the community, but it is enabling me to keep as many of my team working as possible. We have had so many lovely comments from people as we are offering them a choice of first class fresh fruit and veg and have been able to offer groceries they are struggling to get elsewhere, such as the elusive flour. We are even getting asked if we will continue this service once we are able to go back to being a coffee shop.”

The range of groceries on offer is quite astounding, and updated several times a week. Contact-free delivery is available to those who are self-isolating or vulnerable, and various payment options are available.
