Winter is a good time to slow down and enjoy food that feels grounding and generous. Eating well when the days are colder isn’t about anything overtly fancy: it’s about warmth, good ingredients and the simple pleasure of sitting down to a meal in good company.

This winter, The Good Food Guide is inviting diners to beat the blues with its first ever Restaurant Month, running from 13 January to 13 February 2026. Three of our favourite restaurants in north Norfolk are taking part, each offering special menus that champion seasonal cooking and local produce.

The White Horse in Holme-next-the-Sea will be serving two courses for £22 or three for £29, Monday to Friday at lunch.

The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster Staithe is offering a main course and soft drink for £15 or two courses for £20, available Monday to Friday at lunchtime.

The White Horse in Brancaster completes the trio with two courses for £25 or three for £30, available Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner.

Alongside Restaurant Month, the popular White Horse Holme Supper Club returns on Friday 30 January and Wednesday 11 February at 7pm in the Bakery Barn. Head Chef Gabe Lea will be cooking a five course menu showcasing trusted local suppliers, with an optional wine flight in collaboration with Burn Valley Vineyard. With just 30 seats in the cosy barn, booking is essential.

Supporting local restaurants in the quieter months really matters. It keeps skills, suppliers and small producers going, and it helps these places continue to do what they love. Seasonal food, cooked with care and shared with others, has a way of making winter feel that bit brighter.

Restaurant Month menus run throughout January and early February, and Supper Club dates are booking now. For reservations, please contact the restaurants directly.
